LENS CARE
INSTRUCTIONS
Paintball
lenses are made from Aerospace Polycarbonate, the strongest optical material
known. IMPORTANT! The lenses will deteriorate, weaken and possibly break if you
don’t clean them exactly as the manufacturer instructs! This is what JT
recommends.
1-
Always clean lenses with plain water or Plexus
spray. NEVER use
anything else. Warning: NEVER use cleaners such as Windex, 409, Simple
Green, Fantastic, Gasoline, Kerosene, etc. The strong chemicals will attack the
lens and cause it to break. If your lens contacts any chemical substance or
chemical fumes, THROW IT AWAY. Replace it with a new lens
from the
manufacturer for your protection! NEVER take chances. YOU CAN’T
replace an eye.
2-
Always clean your goggle and lens every time you use it. Take your
goggle apart by taking out the lens out of the goggle frame. Wash all paint from
the lens, and the goggle frame, and inside the goggle frame gutter with plain
water. Carefully check the gutter that holds the lens because paint will collect
here and attack the lens. Even if you think it is clean, always wash each piece
and dry completely before you put the goggle back together. NEVER let any
paint or paint spry stay on your goggle overnight.
A-
Single Lens: Take the single lens out of the goggle frame and wash
it with warm water only. You can dry your lens and avoid scratching it by using
a JT Microfiber Lens Cloth
or a soft cotton cloth. NEVER use paper
towels, newspaper, etc. Polycarbonate scratches easily so be careful.
B-
Thermal Lens: Take the thermal lens out of the goggle frame and
gently dab the lens with a damp
JT Microfiber Lens cloth or a soft cotton cloth.
NEVER submerge this dual lens in water. NEVER scrub the soft inner
lens. NEVER apply any form of fog resistant solution to the inner lens.
3-
ONLY USE JT MAJIK SPRAY! NEVER use any other brand of fog
resistant spray on JT lenses as they may contain chemicals that will damage the
lens. Spray JT Majik on a single lens only, spread evenly and allow to dry. When
Lens is dry, buff gently with a
JT Microfiber Lens cloth or a soft cotton cloth.
Don’t over-polish the lens or it will remove the fog resistant protection.
4-
CAUTION! NEVER STORE YOUR GOGGLES OR LENSES NEAR CHEMICALS OR FUMES!
Gasoline fumes; common cleaning solutions and most detergents will damage
goggles and lenses. ALWAYS store your goggles in a goggle
bag in a cool, dry place free from all
chemicals and fumes.
5-
CAUTION! NEVER STORE YOUR GOGGLES OR LENSES IN HOT PLACES OR NEAR HEAT
SOURCES! High temperatures will damage goggles and lenses. NEVER keep in car
trunks, in plastic bags laying in direct sunlight, near heater, stoves or other
hot places. ALWAYS store goggles in a cool, dry place free of all chemicals and
fumes.
6-
CAUTION: BE ON THE ALERT! ALWAYS INSPECT YOUR LENSES AND GOGGLES BEFORE
EVERY GAME YOU PLAY
A-
ALWAYS REPLACE LENSES IMMEDIATELY IF SMALL CRACKS APPEAR. Check
your goggle for small cracks each time before you play. Replace if any cracks
are found.
B-
ALWAYS REPLACE LENSES EVERY TIME THEY ARE SHOT WITHIN 10 FEET by
a paintball, even if you can’t see any cracks or damage.
C-
ALWAYS REPLACE LENSES EVERY YEAR whether you have used them
or not, even if you don’t see any cracks.
7-
ALWAYS INSPECT GOGGLES THAT YOU ARE RENTING FROM A FIELD. NEVER
ASSUME THAT THE FIELD OWNER HAS PROPERLY MAINTAINED GOGGLES OR LENSES. IF YOU
DETECT CRACKS, PAINT OR OBVIOUS MAINTENANCE FAILURE, RETURN THEM TO THE FIELD
OWNER AND DO NOT RENT THEM.
